Three airport entities in Mexico City will be transferred to the Mexican Navy Department (ND).

Grupo Aeroportuario de la Ciudad de Mexico, Servicios Aeroportuarios de la Ciudad de Mexico and Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de Mexico will be grouped under the coordinated sector of the ND.

The notice announcing the above transfer, was published in the Mexico’s Federal Official Journal and will enter into force 60 calendar days after its publication.

Mexico’s Department of Infrastructure Communications and Transports along with the ND will oversee the process of transferring human, financial and material resources to the latter public agency.

According to the notice, the nature of the powers conferred on the three airport entities, coincides with the authority of the Mexican government (through the ND). This is why the grouping of such entities under the ND’s control is needed.

Below you will find the government’s announcement (in Spanish).
